Autotroph

This plant that I just got for Mrs. Vandy’s class is autotrophic, meaning that it has the ability to produce its own food through photosynthesis.

Epithelial Tissue

The skin on my hand is an example of epithelial tissue, or tissue that lines the surface of the body.

Fermentation

Wine is made from grapes that have undergone fermentation.

Gibberellins

These seedless grapes were grown to full size with the help of the application of gibberellins, a plant hormone that regulates growth.

Yeast in bread is considered a uni cellular organism. In the the word it defines the organism, it functions with one cell.

A C4 plant is to be considered an upgrade of a C3 plant. Corn is a perfect example of this. It grows in arid areas and intense sunlight.

A mushroom is an example of a fungus with mycelium. The mycelium within it contributes toward the fact that mushrooms sprout rapidly and multiple areas at once.

Roots of this tree is an example of something containing meristem. This is what promotes the growth of most plants.

Segmented Body

This ant’s body is divided into a series of three repetitive segments.

Dominant vs. Recessive Phenotype

My mom’s eyes are blue which is a recessive phenotype, and my dad’s eyes are brown, which is a dominant phenotype.

Hydrophilic

Sugar is hydrophilic because it is easily dissolved in water.

The apple is a methode of seed dispersal. The cutical layer of a plant is on its leaf. The giant weed of basil is a heterotroph.

Yeast is a unicellular organism that consists with only one cell.

This cactus is a C3 plant because the carbon fixation is a metabolic pathway in photosynthesis.

This large leaf is considered to be a frond because of its many divisions.

Endosperm has nutritive tissue within the seeds of the flowering plant like the coconut.

Ginger is an example of rhizome because it is a  horizontal stem that puts out lateral shoots.

This lizard was not happy when it saw me so it got into territoral behavior mode.

This potato is a genetically modified organism because it has been altered by a insertion of a modified gene.

In order to maintain homeostasis calcium levels need to be kept up by having some OJ in the morning.

A mushroom is an example of mycelium because it is the vegetative part of a fungas that consists of fine white filaments.

These lizards are showing how they are adapting by using their camo to blend in with the tree bark.

This is a modified leaf because this leaves doesn’t only perform for photosynthesis; the leave go upward to protect the bud.

Mice are well know for their reproduction and as you can kinda see there is mating behavior going on in the corner of this cage.
